Gaza’s conditions still will not allow enough internet signal to sustain normal conversation with Muhammad Ismael. Some days ago, the U.S. told Israel that support could be affected if they failed to restore drastically-reduced supplies of food, water, medicines and essentials to Palestinians in Gaza (it had been cut by more than 50%). Since then, nothing has changed, and the starvation of Gaza is growing worse.
The people are surviving on vegetables from their few farms not already deliberately destroyed—while nightly gunfights among Gazan families and between Israeli troops and Hamas fighters continue. Sleep is impossible: every walking search for supplies risks life and limb: they keep their children indoors/away from windows, and the world looks on.
WE must make the difference between life and death for this beautiful family—Muhammad and Ghada, JoJo, Dina and Lina (and their surviving relatives). Consider all your own blessings and try to share a mere $10 to help the Ismael family escape from the Hell On Earth they suffer at Israel’s hands.
Seeing that the U.S. and Arab nations alike will do almost nothing to help Palestinians, and that Hamas’ worse-than-useless leadership promises only more destruction of life’s possibilities, the Ismaels have made the heartbreaking choice to try to leave Palestine for a better life for their children. Ghada will bear another child next spring (2025).
Where will they go? Unknown. The estimated cost? At least $25,000 for their 10 family passports, official application fees and other expenses.
