Since late July, relentless Israeli artillery shelling and street-fighting among Palestinian factions have all but cut off Gaza’s internet signal and reduced Muhammad’s messages to brief ones via Facebook Messenger. This page works to share his few communications with the outside world—and we hope that YOU will continue to demand policy changes from YOUR government that presently supports the ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder of the families of Palestine.
JULY 21, 2024
“Hello Brother—Since the poisoning of Yassir Arafat by Palestinian hands years ago, we have been totally governed by Hamas and Palestinian Authority thugs, thieves, and mafia men in both Gaza & Ramallah [West Bank]. I regret to report that many of us can testify that Hamas uses some civilian locations as their own jails for our citizens who speak against them, yes, jails and places of torture, as many of us have heard the screams of people being beaten inside.
“Dear brother, you can mention everything and you can refer to my name clearly, as these days I am attacking both of them vividly in the Arabic language. In these crucial situations the true intellectual should not hide his head in the sand like an ostrich, but should raise his voice and talk loudly on behalf of our people and families.“
JULY 26—
“Hello Brother, I am sorry for this absence on the internet and that I can only send brief written and voice messages, but Israeli tanks and soldiers have moved into our Deir al Balah area and it has been totally occupied for about four days. Since they withdrew we have almost no internet and I am speaking this from an area away from our home where there is some internet signal. [LOUD SOUNDS OF HOVERING ISRAELI DRONES] Please do not worry, we are very grateful for all your care and support.“
JULY 28—
“Israelis got intelligence information about the existence of 7 of Hamas top wanted operatives inside the Deir al Balah school. Maybe the source of this information was a spy, or a drone survey. Yes, brother, it was a terribly fierce airstrike: the death toll has reached 42 and over 100 were injured. As usual 7 wanted Hamas operatives were targeted by this strike, but the Israeli blind usage of power has killed over 35 innocent women & children with those 7 operatives. Yes, brother, 7 Hamas operatives were holding a meeting inside the school. Hiding among civilians and taking them as human shields is an unstoppable Hamas habit.
“They are saying openly that it is too hot down inside their tunnels, so they come above ground to cool themselves and catch some fresh air. But they choose places where they think they are safe, meaning schools, kindergartens, sport clubs, clinics, and UNRWA caravans.“
AUGUST 1—
“We see that some media are reporting a great new treaty of cooperation among Palestinian factions that was arranged with the help of China. We the people, however, do not believe it will amount to anything, because of the old and deep hatred among these factions. And, our new voting in elections promised by this treaty is NEVER going to happen. They know very well that if the people vote for a new government, it will be the end of their power and the end of so many benefits extracted by their corruption. Before Beijing, all these delegates met in Moscow, in Mecca, Doha, Algiers, Cairo, and Istanbul. It is nothing but a farce, for their greatest achievement this time was only that they did some good shopping for their families.”
AUGUST 4—
“Good morning dear brother, I am sorry that internet doesn’t help us these days to make a program. Imagine with me, brother: a lot of internet cables and hubs are damaged by the unstoppable shelling, while Deir al Balah’s population has grown from 80,000 to 800,000, and this is creating huge pressure on the remaining valid internet in the town. Anyway, we are going to keep trying, but I suggest we try again on next Saturday or Sunday.
“Here are the 5 most important things I would like the world to know right now. 1) Polio, hepatitis, and skin infections are attacking children all over Gaza. 2) People are being grilled inside their tents, for August is the hottest month in Palestine, and the plastic material of tents is absorbing this crazy heat. 3) Snakes and scorpions are infiltrating the thin plastic walls of tents, and every day they bite dozens of people. 4) Israel does not allow the delivery of soap and hygiene materials to Gaza: for myself I use sand with water instead of soap to make my shower. 5) Gaza people are in total despair these days, for they do not believe that either a ceasefire or a total finish to this war is even close to happening.”
